Admission Requirements

Applications are carefully reviewed by the Graduate Admission Committee utilizing a holistic approach which considers qualitative and quantitative factors. This multifaceted process focuses on an evaluation of academic credentials from all prior colleges and universities attended as well as experience, service history, aspirations, and communication skills.

  • Students who hold a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or
  • Students who hold a bachelor’s degree in another field, and a combination of equivalent career experience and prerequisite coursework

Prerequisite Coursework

We require three prerequisite courses (9 credits) to enter the MS in Cybersecurity program, which should appear in your prior academic transcripts. They include:

  • CS601C or Equivalent: Computational Statistics
  • IS612, CS502 or Equivalent: Introduction to Coding or Fundamental Computer Science I Using Java
  • IS632 or Equivalent: Business Data Communications

Prerequisites cannot be waived, but applicants can be accepted without them. However, all prerequisite courses will need to be completed before starting foundation/core courses in the program.

Resume Highlight your current and previous professional and academic experience, including the prerequisite coursework you’ve taken, and list any relevant certifications, achievements, and/or awards you’ve earned.
Two (2) letters of recommendation (optional) Two letters of recommendation are optional but strongly recommended. If you choose to submit letters of recommendation in support of your application, letters should be from academic or professional references who can knowledgeably comment on your ability to successfully complete graduate study. Please note that the Graduate Admission Committee reserves the right to require letters of recommendation on a case-by-case basis.
Transcripts Official transcripts are required upon acceptance. See below for submission instructions.
Personal statement Our Graduate Admission Committee wants to understand why this degree matters to you. Why would you like to pursue your master’s in cybersecurity? What are your career goals?
Additional information regarding your academic performance, as well as professional experience, may also be included in the supplement.

Official Transcripts for All College-level Coursework

Transcripts should be sent from every post-secondary institution where you have completed coursework. During the application process, unofficial or official transcripts may be submitted, but official transcripts must be sent upon acceptance to the program.

Whenever possible, Pace prefers to receive transcripts electronically. Pace University participates in several electronic transcripts networks: Credentials, Parchment Exchange, National Student ClearingHouse, and eSCRIP-SAFE. Confirm with the prior institution to determine if they participate in any of these networks.

To satisfy the proof of English proficiency requirement, we will accept TOEFL, IELTS, Pearson PTE, or Duolingo academic scores.
