Pace University is one of just two institutions in metropolitan New York City and one of 145 institutions nationwide to be designated by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE). No. Distance learners in the MSIT program are not required to visit the campus, but are always welcome.

Yes, the majority of our MSIT students complete the degree part-time while maintaining a full-time work schedule.

Part-time students typically complete the degree in two years, taking three to six credits per semester. Full-time students can take up to 12 credits per semester and may complete the degree in as few as 16 months.

Regardless of part- or full-time status, students are allowed up to 10 years to complete the degree.

Yes, you can fulfill both concentrations. By choosing both concentrations, you will need to complete 36 credits. You can apply your six elective credits towards the second concentration and then will need to take six additional credits.

MSIT students are required to maintain a minimum average GPA of 3.0.

Though courses in the MSIT program are primarily asynchronous, faculty and students may decide to work together synchronously through Classes, our online learning platform.

Students are always welcome to visit the campus, but must complete all MSIT courses online.

Each week, students typically devote four hours to coursework for every credit hour.

Students can expect to hear back from faculty within 24 hours, unless otherwise indicated.

Yes, if the applicant holds a four-year undergraduate degree or the equivalent.

International applicants who hold a three-year degree should carefully review the International Admission page.

Applicants can expect to receive an admissions decision via email and U.S. Postal Service within five business days from when a completed application is submitted. You can also visit the Application Dashboard to check your application status.

Basic technical requirements for the MSIT program include a laptop, video camera, headphones with microphone capabilities, and reliable Internet access. Please visit our Technical Requirements page for further details related to processor and storage requirements.

Transfer credits are not generally accepted at the graduate level. They may, however, be considered upon admission.

Federal loans may be available for graduate students enrolled in the MSIT program. To determine your eligibility, please visit the U.S. Department of Education’s Financial Student Aid website. You can also visit the FAFSA website for more information on how to file.

Students on a leave of absence pursuant to the Leave of Absence Policy are considered withdrawn from the University for purposes of financial aid. Consequently, loan repayment obligations may be triggered. Students should speak to a representative of the Financial Aid Office for more detailed information about the status of their financial aid during a leave of absence prior to submitting a Leave of Absence Application.
