Cybersecurity Concentration

In the cybersecurity concentration, you will build foundational knowledge of the IT infrastructure ecosystem, learn to identify and defend against threats, and gain specialized knowledge of information security management.
Network Administration Concentration
Network administrators must be able to expertly select, design, and maintain secure systems that meet the needs of their users and their organizations, no matter where employees are located. In the network administration concentration, you will become adept at integrating solutions into the user environment while applying technical concepts and best practices in crucial areas like cloud computing, optical networks, and telecommunications. You will prepare to develop and implement effective project plans that help organizations proactively address changing needs.
Capstone Project Course
In this project-oriented course, student teams develop real-world computer information systems for actual customers. Students have the opportunity to delve into an area of interest with the enthusiastic support of one of our distinguished faculty members, Jonathan Lee, and will learn the importance of a systematic approach in the process of developing computer information systems. By working on real-world systems with actual customers, students learn the appropriate skills—both technical and soft—for filling meaningful roles in the professional IT workplace. The Capstone Project course is required for completion of the MSIT.
