What Can You Do with a Master’s in Finance?
It’s more important than ever that finance professionals continually sharpen their skills. While technology may be a disruptive force in the finance world, the same key skills taught in a finance master’s program—proficiency with quantitative methods, strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, and a value-generating mindset—can help you stay ahead of the disruption.
A graduate degree is an ideal way to specialize within your field and can be a great asset for negotiating promotions or higher salaries. For many client-facing roles like this one, advanced education can help you better serve your clients while providing a boost to your credibility. For roles within larger organizations, an advanced degree can be helpful for entering the field or communicating your value to your employer.
In addition, jobs within the financial field continue to grow. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of business and financial operations occupations is projected to grow 7% from 2018 to 2028, faster than the national average (5%) for all occupations.
There are a broad range of finance careers that our program prepares you for, from roles at financial institutions to in-house at corporations. Below are some of the areas online MS in Finance graduates choose to pursue:
