Develop Finance Skills with Real-World Applications
If you are someone who is passionate about the future of finance and using quantitative techniques to guide decision-making, our online Master of Science in Finance can equip you with the skills you need.
This part-time program is 100% online and asynchronous, giving you the flexibility to learn on your busy schedule. Our program was designed for both those with finance experience or education, and those who are new to the financial world. For finance industry veterans, this program can be a way for you to boost your skills, refresh your finance knowledge, and elevate your resume.
Our collaborative approach allows students with a background in finance or business to better position themselves for leadership roles and for less experienced professionals to practice communicating and understanding core financial concepts.
Pace students enrolled in the online MS in Finance also benefit from our history as an institution known for providing exceptional quality business and accounting education. The Lubin school is dual-accredited in business and accounting by the AACSB—the premier accrediting organization for business schools in the world. Fewer than two percent of business schools globally have this distinction.

A New York City-Based Location
When it comes to advanced studies in finance, attending a school based in New York City has its advantages. New York City is a financial hub and one of the largest hiring areas for financial positions. In addition, our location allows us to stay abreast of financial trends and challenges, and develop close relationships with employers throughout the industry.
As an enrolled student, the faculty at Pace are invested in your success, providing mentorship to help you achieve your professional goals. Not only do our faculty members have a big hand in creating and updating their own curricula, they are finance scholars and practitioners. Throughout the online master’s in finance program, you’ll have opportunities to connect with our distinguished faculty and learn from their first-hand experiences in the field.

Our online MS in Finance is designed to be accessible to both experienced finance professionals and those entering the field. As a result, we require applicants to have completed a bachelor’s degree, but it does not specifically need to be in finance. It’s preferred that applicants have at least a 3.0 undergraduate GPA, and, although GRE/GMAT scores are required, some applicants may qualify for a waiver.

I think we have a more diverse group here at Pace. We have students who represent the first generation of families having access to college, and that is very important.

What Can You Do with a Master’s in Finance?
It’s more important than ever that finance professionals continually sharpen their skills. While technology may be a disruptive force in the finance world, the same key skills taught in a finance master’s program—proficiency with quantitative methods, strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, and a value-generating mindset—can help you stay ahead of the disruption.
A graduate degree is an ideal way to specialize within your field and can be a great asset for negotiating promotions or higher salaries. For many client-facing roles like this one, advanced education can help you better serve your clients while providing a boost to your credibility. For roles within larger organizations, an advanced degree can be helpful for entering the field or communicating your value to your employer.
In addition, jobs within the financial field continue to grow. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of business and financial operations occupations is projected to grow 7% from 2018 to 2028, faster than the national average (5%) for all occupations.
There are a broad range of finance careers that our program prepares you for, from roles at financial institutions to in-house at corporations. Below are some of the areas online MS in Finance graduates choose to pursue:
- Asset management
- Commercial and consumer lending
- Corporate finance
- Exchanges, clearinghouses, and other financial market utilities
- Financial regulation
