Yes, some students choose to complete the degree part-time while maintaining a full-time work schedule.


No. Distance learners in the MS Computer Science program are not required to visit the campus. Students are always welcome to come to campus to use the Pace facilities.

Computer science is about developing new efficient solutions and technologies to empower the businesses and society. Information systems is about using existing computing technologies to support efficient business operations. Information technology is about deployment, integration, management and security of business technologies.

Coursework


Pace University has been offering online programs to our students since 1999.


Previous experience in computer science is preferred. If students do not have experience in the field, they must complete one prerequisite (bridge) course prior to beginning core coursework:

  • CS 505 Introduction to Computer Science with Java


No, a previous background is not required to enter the program. However, students without prior experience working with Java will need to take the following bridge course prior to beginning the core curriculum:

  • CS 505 Introduction to Computer Science with Java

Please note that if you already have Java experience, you will not need to take the bridge course.


No, an internship is not required.

Admission

The Pace Office of Graduate Admission informs applicants of the committee’s decision—denied or accepted—within 1-2 weeks of completed application submission.


A maximum of six graduate level credits will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
