Faculty

James Albrecht is an authority in a number of subjects including police response to terrorism; emergency incident planning and management; democratic policing; law enforcement leadership practices; and more. He serves as a consultant to the United Nations, the US Department of Homeland Security, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and other institutions

Prior to joining Pace, Albrecht served in the European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) in Kosovo (former Yugoslavia) as the police chief of the EULEX Police Executive Department, and he is a 20-year veteran of the NYPD where he retired as the commanding officer of NYPD Transit Bureau District 20. He is the author and editor of four books, and received a Fulbright Fellowship in 1998.

Albrecht will soon receive his PhD in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven. He also holds two MS degrees in criminal justice as well as bachelor’s degrees in biology and German language.

Cathryn Lavery attended Clark University where, after graduating, she counseled AIDS/HIV patients. At Worcester County Jail, she worked as a liaison with city probation and inmate re-entry. Returning to NY, she continued counseling work and was trained in sexual victimization, intimate partner violence, and trauma. Lavery attended Iona College and was the first woman to graduate from their MS degree program in criminal justice. She received her PhD in Criminal Justice from the Graduate Center/CUNY.

She is a certified mediator with the NYS ABA and is also certified as a trainer from the Clery Center on Title IX. She has received additional certifications on sexual victimization and trauma and forensic mental health issues. She currently serves as chair for Pace University’s criminal justice and security programs at the Pleasantville and the New York City campuses.

Rose Littlejohn is currently Managing Director for Workplace Solutions at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), responsible for the administrative support concierges, office services, facilities, market & digital event teams and the strategic initiatives office. Prior to this role, she was the Business Service Leader responsible for U.S. Security, Meeting and Events Services, and U.S. Travel Organizations. Prior to joining PwC, she was the Director of Global Security and the Ethics Officer for American Standard Co. and the Global Security Senior Manager responsible for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Avon Products. She has been a dedicated and active Board Director of the Girl Scouts of the USA since 2017 as the Audit & Risk Management Chair. Previously, she served the Girl Scouts of Greater NY in the roles of Board Chair (2016-2017), Board President (2012-2016), Executive Committee (2012-2017) and Co-Chair of Strategic Planning (2014-2017). She has also served on the board of FBI’s Domestic Security Advisory Council (DSAC), Pace University Dyson’s College Advisory Board, International Security Management Association (ISMA) and the Secretary of State’s Overseas Advisory Council (OSAC).

Littlejohn has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, MBA in Global Management and Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. She is also a graduate of the Cornell University College Program and holds the designation of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) as well as certification in the NCAD Cybersecurity Governance program from Carnegie Mellon. She is credentialed as a Leadership and Wellness Coach from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC): Certified Professional Coach (CPC); COR.E Dynamics-Leadership & Wellness and ELI-MP Certification (Energy); ICF (International Coaching Federation) ACC executive coach; Team Coaching International (TCI) team coach; and College for Executive Coaching (CEC) Positive Psychology wellness coach. In addition, she holds a National Board Health & Coaching Certification (NBC-HWC).

David Mulcahy is currently a supervisory United States probation officer for the Southern District of New York. He is also a member of the Joint Firearms Task Force and collaborates with the Witness Protection Program. He has worked in conjunction with federal task forces including High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), and All Source Intelligence Center (ASIC).

He has been a member of Pace adjunct faculty for 24 years with specializations in terrorism, intelligence gathering, and community-based corrections.

Michael Schidlow is a compliance and risk management specialist with over 15 years of experience in law, compliance, audit, and consulting. Michael has held leadership roles with Bank of China, HSBC, and Bank of America.

His primary practice area is in anti-money laundering, utilizing an integrated approach to compliance, information technology, cyber-security, and internal ethics. Michael holds the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified AML Audit Specialist (CAMS-Audit) accreditations, is a licensed attorney, and serves as a professor of criminal justice, cybersecurity, and ethics.
