The time it takes you to complete the online accounting master’s program will vary based on your undergraduate background. Please reach out to an admission advisor if you have questions about the requirements to complete your degree and the time to completion.
This is a part-time program. It cannot be completed full time.
No, students can complete all the requirements online. However, students who choose to do so may take up to two classes on campus.

The CPA exam tests the same competencies regardless of the state you are tested in, so you will be able to take the CPA in any state after your graduation. The key difference in licensing requirements between states is in the number of credit hours you must complete before you’re able to take the exam. In most other states, you must complete 150 credit hours college education before you can take the exam. In New York, however, you can take the exams after completing 120 total semester hours of college education.

Some states allow for provisional approval for applicants who want to take the exam while still completing the educational requirement. For more information on becoming a CPA, the AICPA has developed a helpful guide.

Yes. In addition to covering the competences tested by the CPA exams, the program is taught by faculty with experience as CPAs, and students receive personalized mentorship and guidance to help them successfully pass the exam.

We also have a partnership with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), which allows our graduates to be exempted from several of the ACCA licensing exams.

Curriculum

You may be eligible to waive some or all of the foundation courses based on undergraduate business and accounting coursework. Please contact an admission advisor with any questions about waiving this coursework, and we can work with you to map out the courses you’ll need to complete the Pace master’s in accounting program.

Yes, the programs are designed to achieve the same learning outcomes, and they are taught by the same faculty.
This will vary by course, but we generally recommend spending between 8 and 10 hours on each course per week.

Admission

We require a minimum 3.0 GPA for acceptance. Applicants who do not meet this requirement but are able to showcase their strengths in other areas will also be considered.
Yes, applicants must take either the GMAT or GRE. However, we do offer a waiver for qualified applicants. Please contact an admission advisor to discuss waiver requirements and find out whether you qualify.
You do not need an accounting background to apply for the program. In fact, the skills you develop through completing your master’s in accounting degree are valuable for a range of business and management careers. Students without previous education in accounting will take the foundation courses prior to beginning core coursework to ensure they have the basic set of skills needed to succeed in the field.
