The online Master of Science in Education, Literacy Specialist (MSEd, LIT) program from Pace University equips educators with effective pedagogical strategies that are backed by the latest research. Graduates earn a master’s from an institution that’s accredited by the Association for Advancing Quality in Education Preparation (AAQEP) and become eligible for an advanced or professional certificate in the teaching of literacy with a choice of two concentrations:

Early Childhood/Childhood (birth–grade 6)
Middle Childhood/Adolescent (grades 5–12)

Applicants to the online master’s in literacy program are not required to submit GRE scores or pay an application fee.

Taught by the Pace School of Education’s faculty of accomplished educators and researchers, the MSEd, LIT prepares teachers to work with English language learners and students who have language or learning disabilities, as well as high achievers. The online reading specialist master’s program embraces the possibilities of new literacies with a multimodal approach to engaging students. By incorporating electronic platforms into lessons, teachers can encourage digital natives to engage with texts and express themselves. Fieldwork components and a final practicum give you opportunities to apply new approaches and receive insightful feedback.
